Shock dynamics and shock collision in foam layered targets

Abstract We present an experimental study of the dynamics shocks generated by interaction a double-spot laser in different kinds targets: simple aluminum foils and foam–aluminum layered targets. The experiment was performed using Prague PALS iodine working at 0.44 μm wavelength irradiance few 10 15 W/cm 2 . Shock breakouts for pure Al foam-Al targets have been recorded time-resolved self-emission diagnostics. Experimental results compared with numerical simulations. originating from two spots move forward expand radially targets, finally colliding intermediate region producing very strong increase pressure. This is particularly clear case foam where we also observed delay shock breakout spatial redistribution influence layer doped high- Z (Au) nanoparticles on studied.
